Das Deck wird Dicht
und das Eisen ist raus
Diesen Sommer konnten wir Jordi und ich, vier Wochen am Stück arbeiten und wir haben dadurch einen Riesensprung vorwärts gemacht.
The deck is tight
and the iron is out
This summer, Jordi and I were able to work for four weeks at a time and we made a giant step forward.
Unser Ziel war das Deck vor der Regenzeit fertig zu haben, um dann an den Spanten, Kielholz etc. zu arbeiten.
Our goal was to have the deck ready before the rainy season so that we could work on the frames, keel wood, etc.
Stahlspanten und Mastfuss
Steel frames and mast base
Eine der wirklich mühsamsten arbeiten war die entfernung des rostigen Stahls. Der Stahl hat sich in schichten aufgelöst und das Holz darunter angegriffen.
One of the really tedious jobs was removing the rusty steel. The steel has dissolved into layers and attacked the wood underneath.
Die Holzbalken haben sich in Kleinteile zerlegt und ich konnte Sie zum Teil von Hand herausbrechen.
The wooden beams have broken down into small parts and I was able to break some of them out by hand.
